A Nostalgic Tribute

1570 CKAN is a loving homage to the great AM stations of the 1980’s. The CKAN call letters honor the defunct Newmarket station where I first went on air in January 1983.

Broadcasting from Island Lakes neighbourhood in Winnipeg on the 1570 AM frequency @ 100 mW ERP, our studio features actual radio station equipment – a working museum of broadcasting history.

Every song is carefully curated using research from the Billboard Hot 100 releases (1970-1999), the RPM music charts for Canadian content, and the legendary 680 CFTR and 1050 CHUM charts.
